Resident Offers Thank-You Gift

Anita Hollerer-Squire has lived in Alameda for three years. She is originally from Austria, and has spent many years travelling around the world. Her husband is part of Artemis Racing, the Swedish team that took part in the 34th America’s Cup races in 2013. Artemis was based at Alameda Point during the races and many of the team’s families took up residence here.

“Since we arrived, the people in Alameda have been so welcoming and friendly and have included us into their community,” she said. Hollerer-Squire would like to repay this kindness and give something back.

“I run holistic weight-loss programs and would like to offer the program for free to everyone who lives on our little island,” she said. She is offering all Alameda residents who want to lose weight her February or March “Kick-start" program for free.

This four-week program is valued at $99 and has information and tools to help participants move toward permanent weight loss, better health and wellbeing.  “This is not a diet and there is no need to cut out any food groups, count calories or starve yourself,” Hollerer-Squire said. “This is a healthy lifestyle change.”

The program includes healthy eating information, delicious recipes, exercise videos and tools to create a positive mindset Hollerer-Squire holds the classes online and/or over the phone. All you need to take part in the program is a phone and/or computer.

“Each week we connect via a conference call and in between we support you by email,” she said. “We also have a private Facebook page, where you can share your progress, thoughts and ideas with fellow participants.”

The website www.bodymindforlife.com has a complete list of classes and more information. Alamedans can claim their free program at www.facebook.com/bodymindforlife, click on the event and select "going,” or email info@bodymindforlife.com and mention the Alameda Sun article.
