Register Now for Flag Football
The East Bay Flag Football (EBFF) Alameda Conference is opening registration for its fall 2017 season. The league will have five co-ed age divisions. There will be a five- to six-year-old division, a seven- to eight-year-old division, a nine- to 10-year-old division, an 11- to 12-year-old division and a 13- to 15-year-old division.
Players may enter individually or as entire teams. Children who want to play together are encouraged to enter as a team and train for the NFL Flag Regional Tournament.
All practices and games will be conducted on Saturdays from Sept. 9 through Nov. 11. On Sept. 9 there is an orientation and practice. On Sept. 16, there is a practice and scrimmage.
The regular season begins Sept. 23. The playoffs will begin Nov. 4, with the championship game taking place on Nov. 11.
All teams make the playoffs in the divisions from nine to 15 years old. The five to six-year-old division will not keep score, have standings or playoffs — there will be a round-robin-style tournament. Practices and games will be structured to be less competitive, including parent/coach on-field as snapper. All practices and games will be played at Godfrey Park, 281 Beach Road.
The five to six-year-old division’s schedule is from 8 to 10 a.m. The seven to eight-year-old division is 10 a.m. to noon. The nine to 10-year-old division is noon to 2 p.m. The 11 to 12-year-old division will play from 2 to 4 p.m. The 13 to 15-year-old division will play from 4 to 6 p.m.
Players will need to bring their EBFF Waiver (which will be attached to the registration confirmation email), their birth certificate, cleats or tennis shoes and a mouth guard to the first practice. Some mouth guards will be available at the field.
The league costs $200 to join. To register, visit eastbayflag.com/registration. The EBFF is associated with USA Football, the official youth development partner of the NFL.
