Two Red Rock teams competed in the 15-and-under (15U) open division tournament — there were eight tournament divisions based on age. Red Rock 15 Taylor, coached by Taylor Elliott and Jhunel Abellon — teams are named after their head coach — competed in pool 4 of the round-robin portion, while Red Rock 15 Leslie, coached by Leslie Blakely and Azariah Hill, competed in pool 6.

In Pool 6, Team Leslie went 2-1 in the four-team pool on Sunday, Jan. 16. They defeated Marin Juniors 15 Green, 2-0 (25-12, 25-15) and MotherLode 15 of Sonora, Ca., 2-0 (26-24, 25-19). The team lost their third match, 2-1 (25-16, 14-25, 8-15), to Core 15 Elite of Dublin. Team Leslie advanced to the challenge match stage on Jan. 17. They defeated Silver State 15 Brad of Carson Nev., 2-1 (25-16, 19-25, 12-15), to earn a spot in the eight-team Gold Bracket, the highest bracket of the division. The team lost in the first round to the San Francisco Tremors 15 Hawks, 2-0 (8-25,20-25). Team Leslie finished in fifth place out of 29 teams in the tournament.

Team Taylor went 1-2 in pool 4. They won a forfeit match over Pulse 15 Black. Then lost to Main Beach 15 Gold of Santa Cruz, 2-0 (12-25, 15-25), and Aspire 15 Black of Folsom, 2-0 (14-25, 22-25). They lost to SF Tremors 15 Hawks in the challenge match, 2-0 (9-25, 4-25).

The team took part in the Bronze Bracket tournament. They lost in the first round, 2-1 (25-18, 15-25, 8-15), to Rage 15 Josh of Ripon. Team Taylor finished in 21st place.

Later that day they lost their crossover match — where teams compete against teams from other pools — 2-0 (13-25, 20-25), to Silver State 16 James.

Team Mariah competed in the Bronze Bracket where they won their first-round matchup, 2-0 (25-19, 25-14), against Force Performance Volleyball Club (FPVC) 16 Ren of Elk Grove. They lost in the semifinals, 2-0 (24-26, 18-25), to Mountain View Volleyball Club (MVVC) G 16 Red.
