Three Alameda high school athletes took part in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) track championships Saturday, June 3, at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis.

Encinal junior Kendall O’Farrell finished tied for 10th in the women’s high jump finals with a height of 5’ 2”. She finished just six inches behind the first place winner Abigail Burke from Poly High of Riverside.

O’Farrell’s 5’ 2” jump was tied for her second best height of the season. She reached a height of 5’ 3”, her personal record, at a West Alameda County Conference League meet on April 19. The junior also competed in 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter and 4x400 meter events during the 2017 outdoor track season.

St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) senior Kiera Marshall finished 12th in the women’s 3,200-meter race. Marshall clocked in at a time of 10:42.15. It was Marshall’s last high school event. She will attend University of Washington this fall.

SJND senior Cooper Teare finished third in the men’s 3,200-meter race. Teare completed the course with a time of 8:55.93. Teare won the competition last year. He will attend University of Oregon this fall.
