Alameda police are investigating the death of an unidentified person who fell from the parking garage on Oak Street Saturday, Aug. 5. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. at the parking structure on Oak, between Central and Santa Clara Avenues, according to Alameda Police Department.

Video from the scene showed officers surveying the side of the structure next to the CVS lot. The garage was closed for much of Saturday while APD personnel investigated.

The structure is seven stories high and is situated next to Alameda Theatre & Cineplex.

Police said they were working with the coroner’s office. They did not say whether the death was suspicious. Anyone with information is asked to call APD at 510-337-8340.
