Grand theft reported at 10:22 a.m. on the 2400 block of Eagle Avenue.
Hit and run reported at 9:51 p.m. on the 2400 block of Blanding Avenue; photograph of suspect vehicle booked into evidence. 
Report of a bad check passed at 8:57 p.m. on the 2200 block of South Shore Center. 
Arson reported at 10:34 p.m. on the 1400 block Webster Street. Christmas tree set on fire.
Arrests: for public intoxication at 11:42 a.m. at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Wester. 
Two cases of petty theft reported, packages stolen from porches.
Two people detained for psychiatric evaluation. 

Tuesday, Jan. 5
Report of a city tree falling onto two parked vehicles at 4:21 a.m. on the 1300 block of Union Street. 
Three cases of grand theft (auto) reported: at 6:52 a.m. on the 1300 block of Grove Street; at 8:16 a.m. on the 1000 block of Central Avenue; and at 6:45 p.m. at Larchmont Isle and Otis Drive.
Lost property (a wallet) reported at 4:01 p.m. on the 1400 block of Webster Street. 
Unfounded report of an assault with a deadly weapon at 6:11 p.m. at Park Street and San Antonio Avenue. 
Vandalism (graffiti sprayed on city property) at 7:54 p.m. on the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue. 
Fraudulent vehicle registration reported at 9:21 p.m. on the 1200 block of Santa Clara Avenue. 
Arrests: for trespassing and public intoxication at 12:01 a.m. on the 2300 block of Lincoln Avenue; for a DUI and hit and run at 12:34 a.m. on the 400 block of Taylor Avenue; two arrests at 2:58 p.m. at Flower Lane and Garden Road: the first for the illegal sale of narcotics and theft and the second for driving a stolen vehicle and for possessing illegal narcotics and shaved keys; for a DUI at 11:10 p.m. on the 2100 block of Central. 
Four cases of petty theft reported. 

Wednesday, Jan. 6
Two cases of grand theft (auto) reported: at 7:12 a.m. on the 700 block of Eagle Avenue and at 10:03 a.m. on the 2100 block of Clinton Avenue. 
Four cases of the fraudulent use of identification to obtain credit: at 9:04 a.m. on the 3100 block of Washington Street; at 12:03 p.m. on the 1000 block of Via Bonita; at 4:48 p.m. on the 1500 block of Linden Street; and at 10:11 p.m. on the 400 block of Santa Clara Avenue. 
Battery reported at 9:13 a.m. at the intersection of Mozart Street and Santa Clara.
Runaway located at 6:52 p.m. on Neptune Gardens Avenue. 
Burglary (from a vehicle) reported at 9:50 p.m. on the 900 block of Shorepoint Court. 
Citation: for possession of concentrated cannabis at 2:14 p.m. at West Midway Avenue and Main Street. 
One case of petty theft reported.

Thursday, Jan. 7
ID theft reported at 9:45 a.m. on the 600 block of Central Avenue.
Burglary (from a vehicle) reported at 9:49 a.m. at the intersection of Bayo Vista Avenue and Cornell Drive.
Burglary (at a residence) reported at 11:10 p.m. on the 3200 block of Encinal Avenue.
Two handguns turned over to APD: at 11:46 a.m. on the 1500 block of Oak Street and at 1:26 p.m. on the 1900 block of Otis Drive.
Sunken boat recovered at 11:55 a.m. on the 1500 block of Buena Vista Avenue.
Citation: for possession of marijuana paraphernalia at 1:14 p.m. on the 400 block of Tucker Avenue.
Arrest: for driving without a license at 8:05 p.m. at the intersection of Constitution Way and Eagle Avenue.
Five people detained for psychiatric evaluation.

Two cases of vandalism reported: at 12:38 a.m. on the 2300 block of South Shore Center and at 9:12 a.m. on the 1500 block of Morton Street.
Property recovered at 5:29 a.m. on the 2600 block of Blanding Avenue.
Injury (dog bite) reported at 10:06 a.m. on the 700 block of Central Avenue.
Property recovered at 4:32 p.m. on the 1500 block of Oak Street.

Abandoned dog discovered at 8:47 a.m. on the 1500 block of Fortmann Way.
Injury (sidewalk fall) reported at 10:55 a.m. on the 1100 block of West Red Line Avenue.
