Point Infrastructure Construction Underway Now
New East Bay Municipal Utilities District water facilities and backbone infrastructure are being constructed in the Adaptative Reuse Area at Alameda Point, including new sewer, storm, joint trench, street lighting, landscaping, and new complete streets with 100 percent stormwater capture and bike, pedestrian, and transit facilities. Construction is underway and is expected through late summer of 2024.
Construction is located at segments of West Tower Avenue, Saratoga Street, West Midway Avenue and Pan Am Way. The new roads will also consist of bicycle, pedestrian, and transit facilities.
Currently, West Tower and Saratoga are closed to traffic. The city expects to reopen those streets for travel next week and complete this phase of the project in early April. Construction will then move to Pan Am and West Midway. Those roads will reopen at the end of the summer.
Access to the Bladium will be on Pan Am Way, just south of West Tower (near the Alameda Naval Air Station Museum). Signage is in place.
