Point Homes Burn
Just before 5 p.m. April 7, the Alameda Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a six-unit apartment building in the 2500 block of Pensacola Road. The buildings are a part of Alameda Point Collaborative (APC). Upon arrival fire crews found heavy fire in two adjacent units.
A second alarm was requested which brought Oakland Fire Department to stage at the scene. Oakland Fire also provided fire station coverage to the City of Alameda during the incident.
The fire was contained to two units, with three other units damaged. Five families have been displaced, and are working with the American Red Cross.
The Oakland Fire Department, Alameda Police Department, Alameda Municipal Power, Alameda Building Department, Pacfic Gas & Electric, and the American Red Cross were all called to the scene to provide assistance.
