Pilots Baseball Team Continues Hot Streak with 12-2 Victory
The St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) baseball team continued its winning ways with a 12-2 victory over Salesian of Richmond.
The Pilots combined for 10 hits and were walked nine times. Two SJND players (juniors Vincent Republicano and Patrick Yajko) each had two hits in the contest. The Pilots scored in five of the seven innings on offense, including a 4-run fourth inning.
The victory did not come without some hurdles for the Pilots. After scoring three runs in the top of the first inning, SJND allowed two runs in the bottom half. But starting pitcher Satchel Fisher breezed through four straight scoreless innings after the first. He wound up with three strikeouts and two hits over five innings. Steven Manzo pitched the final two innings.
The Pilots are now 12-2 on the season and have won eight straight. They will take on Swett of Crocket tomorrow.
