Park Street, Blanding Scheduled for Paving

City of Alameda    Work on Blanding Avenue and Park Street will take place in two phases. Left, from the Park Street Bridge to Eagle Avenue will be under construction on Sunday, Nov. 4, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday morning, Nov. 5.

Weather permitting, the city will begin work on the next phase of its street repair and resurfacing projects soon. This involves asphalt concrete overlay on Park Street, from the Park Street Bridge to Eagle Avenue from 7 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, to 5 a.m., Monday, Nov. 5.

Overlay work will continue on Park Street from Eagle Avenue to Buena Vista Avenue; and on Blanding Avenue from Oak Street to Broadway. This part of the project is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, to Friday, Nov. 9.
During construction, motorists and businesses may experience minor disruptions in traffic, restricted street access and parking, as well as minor increases in noise levels and dust. Bus stop access and access to individual driveways will be maintained throughout the project duration.

The contractor will make best efforts to maintain one lane of traffic available in each direction. However, site conditions may require that only one lane be available for both directions. In this case, flag persons will be used to control traffic and delays will occur. It is possible that on-street parking will be removed for up to one week during construction hours.

Alameda County Measure’s B and BB, Vehicle Registration Fund and SB 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 are funding this project.

City of Alameda    The second phase, Park Street from Eagle Avenue to Buena Vista Avenue; and Blanding Avenue from Oak Street to Broadway will see work done Tuesday, Nov. 6, to Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
