This year will be the return of the Fourth of July Parade and the 5K Run/Walk benefitting Midway Shelter. The Alameda Police Department notified residents on its Facebook page of street closures to accommodate the events. APD and event personnel will close streets along the parade route to traffic starting at 7 a.m. (some streets near the staging area will begin at 6 a.m.) Most road closures and detours will remain in effect until 3 p.m.
