Non Emergency Number for Alameda Police Changed This Week

The City of Alameda announced a one-day change to the Alameda Police Department’s non-emergency phone number will be taking place today. The change is due to a phone system migration in city government buildings.

Staff will be migrating the city’s aging phone system platform to a new system during the month of May. During this migration, phone service to city departments will experience a temporary service outage for up to 24 hours.

The 911 emergency line will not be affected during this migration.

Beginning at 8:15 a.m. today, Thursday, May 18, the APD non-emergency phone number will be temporarily changed to (510) 337-8820.

The migration schedule for the rest of the city departments is as follows:

  • May 19: Main Library, West End Library, Bay Farm Library
  • May 23: Recreation & Parks, Maintenance Service Center, Fleet, Mastick Senior Center, Fire Station 3
  • May 24, 2017:  Fire Station 2, Fire Station 4
  • May 25, 2017:  City Hall West, Fire Station 1, Police Station, City Hall, Fire Station 5, 522 Building, ARPD
