No Firm Slate of Bridge Work
Caltrans maintenance work on the Bay Farm Island Bridge is expected to continue through May, according to Alameda Public Information Officer Sarah Henry.
Caltrans is painting and conducting steel deck repairs on the bridge. Crews are working on the bridge in a sporadic schedule. There is no set timetable of when Caltrans will complete repairs.
Henry said Caltrans does not notify the city until a few days before the work begins. To view updates on Caltrans maintenance schedule visit the city’s website and click on the “alerts” link, under the “residents” tab. There is no maintenance scheduled to be conducted this weekend.
Work began earlier this year from Jan. 9 to 11. Maintenance times are scheduled for 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The bridge will be closed while repairs are underway.
