Register for National Night Out by July 31
The Alameda Police Department (APD) invites the public to participate in to National Night Out (NNO) on from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, APD will visit all registered neighborhoods. NNO is designed to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing a sense of community. It’s a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Two Celebrations in One
The Alameda Recreation and Parks Department (ARPD) invites the public to attend a duo of celebrations at Longfellow Park (520 Lincoln Ave.) this Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. ARPD will re-open the Longfellow playground structure while also taking note of the 25th Anniversary of the American Disabilities Act (ADA).
Longfellow Playground, which includes the first rubberized, all accessible playground surface in the city, and the celebration will promote awareness of disability issues and creative solutions to help all Alamedans improve their quality of life.

Stone Memorial Set
Friends and customers of Dennis Stone of Stone’s Cyclery who died recently can join a celebratory bike ride 9 a.m. Sunday, July 26, at Rock Wall Winery, 2301 Monarch St., Three loop options will accommodate riders of all abilities, and return to the winery by 1 p.m. Call Stone’s Cyclery at 523-3264 for more details.
A public memorial gathering and celebration of life will follow at Rock Wall Winery from 1 to 4 p.m. At 5 p.m., the celebration will continue with an informal wake at Stone’s Cyclery, 2320 Santa Clara Ave.
