Radio Museum Fundraiser Set

Alameda Community Radio (ACR), an Internet radio station, is holding a fundraiser to help support its quest to obtain a broadcast license from the Federal Communication Commission.

"Dine & Donate" will be an all-day fundraising event at Tomatina restaurant, 1338 Park St., on Wednesday, March 12. Tomatina will donate 15 percent of its food and beverage sales from lunch, dinner and takeout to ACR. Customers are asked to present an ACR flyer to their server. The flyer can be found at www.alamedacommunityradio.net.

ACR is a non-profit, listener-supported, grass roots radio station currently offering locally produced programs on the Internet. For more about the fundraiser or ACR, visit www.alamedacommunityradio.net.

Cops Help out FAAS

Otaez Mexican Restaurant will be hosting a fundraiser to support Friends of Alameda Animal Shelter (FAAS) next week.

The "Tip-A-Cop" event will take place Thursday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 1619 Webster St. Alameda Police Chief Paul Rolleri and Alameda police officers are volunteering to be celebrity waiters for the evening, helping to deliver food and refill drinks, all for "tips" to support FAAS. One hundred percent of the tips donated to the officers will benefit homeless pets.

For more information, visit the FAAS website at www.alamedaanimalshelter.org.

FAAS is located at 1590 Fortmann Way. The shelter is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
