New Year’s Eve Events in Downtown

Business Spotlight: Alameda Theatre & Cineplex and Cinema Grill
At the end of each year, the Downtown Alameda Business Association presents awards to member businesses in recognition of their contributions to the success of the downtown district. The owners and staff are active in Downtown Association activities, participate in downtown events, and cultivate improvements in the business community. The selected businesses are also wonderful examples of the top-notch quality of service you can expect to find throughout the district.
Alameda Theatre & Cineplex was the recipient of this year’s President’s Award.

The Alameda Theatre & Cineplex and the Cinema Grill double down on their commitment to the Downtown Association as both owner Kyle Conner and Marketing & Events Director Allison Shannon serve on committees. Allison and Kyle are a dynamic duo that have been staunch, loyal supporters of our downtown district and the community at large.

Recently, the Alameda Theatre & Cineplex donated $60,000 that they raised to the Golden State Warriors Foundation. That money was put right back into our city and a new basketball court was installed at Washington Park this past fall season.

The Cinema Grill sets an example to other restaurants in the district as they were the first business to sign up for the Clean Water Fund ReThink Disposable grant and that is helping “Unpackage Alameda.”

The downtown district, the city and the Alameda community overall have all been the benefactor of their gracious generosity and wealth of talent.
