New Website Showcases City Public Art Collection

The City of Alameda has launched a website that details where public art pieces are located throughout the city. Over the past several months Community Development Department staff have worked with graphic and web designer Jose Fernandez, photographer Maurice Ramirez, and the Public Art Commission to develop a website to showcase the large-scale art installations that are invigorating public spaces around Alameda (“City to Launch Public Art Website; Complete Art Plan,” Jan. 27).

The new website features an interactive map allowing users to explore public art across the city and includes individual reference pages for each featured artwork. The website includes works created through the Public Art Program as well as publicly accessible murals funded through a combination of private dollars and the Façade Grant Program.
