New Art Sculpture Installed on Bay Farm
Bay Farm Island recently received a beautification upgrade from a sculpture named the Tidal Arch. The art piece, made of concrete and steel, is 70 feet long and 15 feet high. The sculpture, by artist Adrien Segal, takes inspiration from tidal ebbs and flows in the San Francisco Bay and is designed to invite public interaction. The piece was installed at 1951 Harbor Bay Parkway near the intersection of Harbor Bay and North Loop Road.
Segal is a renowned artist, and her work has been exhibited internationally since 2007. The Alameda native has also been featured in several books and academic journals. Segal was awarded the Latham Fellowship at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago in 2020 and will be a US/UK Fulbright Scholar at the University of Dundee this year. Segal’s art studio is located on the former Naval Base.
