Nea Names New Leader

Community Learning Center Schools (CLCS), the management organization for Nea and Alameda Community Learning Center public charter schools, has announced the permanent appointment of Annalisa Moore as lead facilitator or principal of Nea Community Learning Center. The CLCS board appointed Moore as the school’s interim lead facilitator in April 2014, following the departure of Maafi Gueye.

The CLCS board of directors unanimously supported Moore’s appointment at its Jan. 22 meeting. The Nea board followed suit on Jan. 28. In approving the appointment, the board cited Moore’s strength of leadership, vision and exemplary performance.

The CLCS board had planned a nationwide search for a lead facilitator, but the group was swayed by Executive Director Patti Wilczek’s recommendation to appoint Moore and the passionate outpouring of support for Moore by Nea educators and staff.

“In the interim role, Annalisa has repeatedly proven herself to be an effective, innovative and graceful leader with an extraordinary team-building capacity,” said Wilczek.
