Museum to Unveil New Oversized Art at Second Friday Opening

Coinciding with the second Friday openings happening all over town tomorrow night is the presentation of one particularly giant piece of art by local artist d’Arci Bruno at the Pacific Pinball Museum (PPM).

With funding from an East Bay Community Foundation grant, PPM artists have produced several hand-painted acrylic-on-canvas murals. The latest mural reproduces original art from the famous Captain Fantastic game, featuring Elton John in his role as Captain Fantastic in The Who’s rock opera, Tommy.

Bruno captured the uncensored version of Dave Christiansen’s original art which features controversial elements of a sexual and political nature. She used tiny brushes on a canvas approximately 10 feet by 10 feet and had help from Rosie Morales and Ed Cassel. Along with the canvas, the museum will present two Captain Fantastic games to play.

The new mural goes on display tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at 1510 Webster St. For more information, visit www.pacificpinball.org.
