Medicare Clinic Closing
Medicare Clinic Closing
By the end of 2019, the Medicare-focused primary care clinic, Calyx Health, will be closing its doors. Calyx Health is a start-up that dedicated the last three years to building technology to support the well-being of Medicare patients.
“This was a difficult decision to make and not one that we took lightly,” said Shaily Gupta of Calyx Health. “We do believe that senior-focused clinics are the future, and many of us hope to take our experiences to eventually make that a reality for Medicare patients across the country.”
After watching their own fathers navigate the healthcare system, founders Abhas Gupta and Kevin Matulef, launched Calyx Health with the goal to deliver a better healthcare experience for seniors using technology and care management to keep patients healthy and out of the hospital.
Since officially opening the senior-focused clinic in 2018, Calyx Advantage saved Medicare beneficiaries in Northern California nearly $250,000 annually — far surpassing its goal of $100,000 in savings.
“We’d like to say thank you for allowing us to be part of your healthcare,” said Gupta, Calyx’s CEO.
