Meals on Wheels Fall Fest Fundraiser on Tap

This Saturday, Sept. 21, Alameda Meals on Wheels will host its third annual “Fall Fest — An Island Celebration of Craft Beers, Wine, Music and Games.” The beer-centered fundraiser runs from noon to 4 p.m. at the Encinal Yacht Club, 1251 Pacific Marina.

Guests will be treated to views of the Oakland Estuary while tasting local craft beers from 15 different breweries and wines from three local wineries. In addtion, three local bands will perform live: The Jones Gang, Bay Station and ’80s-a-GoGo. A cornhole tournament will also take place. Barbecue lunch is included in the $50 ticket price. Tickets are available at

Participating breweries include: Alameda Island Brewing Co., Almanac Beer Co., CRAFT Beer & Wine, Faction Brewing and Speakeasy Ales & Lagers among many others. Wineries include: Dashe Cellars, Riboli Family Wines and Urban Legend Cellars.

All proceeds benefit Alameda Meals on Wheels, a locally-funded, seven-day-a-week program that has been delivering hot, nourishing meals to Alameda residents since 1973.

The program attributes its longevity to the incredible spirit of volunteerism shown by its meal-delivery team and the continuing generosity of those who donate to support the cause.
