About 8:30 a.m., last Monday a driver jumped the curb with his pickup truck at Santa Clara Avenue and High Street.
He slammed into and damaged the cast-iron fence that defines the boundary to Lincoln Park.
Alameda Police Department (APD) has announced the arrest of Jonathon Gee, 33, as the man who allegedly threatened protesters on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. According to witnesses, Gee was holding what appeared to be a long gun and was threatening the protesters.
Shell Oil, the owner of the property that houses the Pennzoil plant on Grand Street, has now demolished all the buildings and above-ground tanks there. The 4.1-acre site is bounded by Grand Street, Fortman Way, Ellen Craig Avenue and Hibbard Street.
According to witnesses at the scene, the armed man pictured at the left confronted demonstrators on Mosely Avenue on Monday.
He yelled obscenities, telling them to get out of his neighborhood, witnesses said.
The East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) completed its beach and dune improvement project at Alameda Point in December 2020. The complete facelift comes on the heels of the city upgrading the nearby boat ramp. The area is accessible from Central Avenue next to Encinal High School.
