Alameda High junior Catherine Boles qualified to swim in two events at the inaugural California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) meets this weekend, May 22 and 23, in Clovis, Calif.

The top high school swimmers from throughout the state of California will converge on Clovis to compete against each other for the very first time, after meeting the qualifying times and placing in the finals at their respective division championships.

Boles qualified to swim at the CIF meet in the 200 free and 100 backstroke. She placed third in the consolation final of the 200 Free, finishing in a time of 1:51.03, and fourth in the final of the 100 backstroke, breaking her own existing school record with a time of 56.11 at the North Coast Section championships on May 16. Catherine’s two times also qualify her to be considered for All-American status.

Boles is coached by Leslie Cortez.
