AHS Winter Concert — In person, 6:30 p.m.; AHS Kofman Auditorium (2200 Central Ave.)
All ages. The annual winter concert will feature Jazz Band, guitar ensemble, concert band, string orchestra and symphonic band. $10 donation ($5 students) are appreciated.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 9-18
A Christmas Carol — In person, varying times & locations
Free, all ages. The Foodbank Players will perform nine productions of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The play tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge and his path to compassion. Performance on Fridays and Saturdays will take place at First Congregational Church, 1912 Central Ave., while Sunday performances will take place at The Healing Garden, located at 1435 Webster St., Friday shows will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday shows will begin at 2 p.m. More info: http://foodbankplayers.org.

Breakfast With Santa — In person, 10 a.m. to noon; Albert H. DeWitt O'Club (641 West Redline Ave.)
All ages. Join Santa for breakfast, arts & crafts, and take a photo with the big guy. Santa will read one of his special stories at 11:15 a.m. The event is $19 for ages 13 & up; $10 for ages 2 – 12; and FREE for ages 2 & under. More info: ARPD at 510-747-7529.

Sunday, Dec. 11
Breakfast with Alameda Civic Ballet — In person, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.; Elks Lodge (2255 Santa Clara Ave.)
All ages. Enjoy omelets, waffles and other delicious breakfast food. Proceeds will benefit Alameda Civic Ballet and the Rachel Shahinian and Annika Zinsley Memorial scholarship fund. Event is free for children 5 and under, $6 for ages 6 to 12, $15 for ages 13 and up. RSVP: 510-305-9576.
