Local Dentistry to Provide Free Dental Care

Alameda Pediatric Dentistry will host its annual Give Kids A Smile event on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1105 Atlantic Ave., Suite 101. The dentistry has been hosting Give Kids A Smile events for the past 17 years as a way to provide free dental care to local children who desperately need it and otherwise would not be able to afford it. Guests can take advantage of free, easily accessible dental services to qualifying individuals and learn about the epidemic of untreated dental disease occurring locally and nationally.

“Each year we look forward to Give Kids a Smile Day because we’re helping to fill a critical need in our community,” said Dr. Mylinh Ngo, pediatric dentist at Alameda Pediatric Dentistry. “It shows we truly care about the oral health of children and educating kids and their parents on the importance of oral health care at a young age.”

The ADA Foundation’s Give Kids A Smile program was launched nationally in 2003. Each year 350,000 to 400,000 children benefit from more than 1,500 events, through the efforts of some 40,000 annual volunteers nationwide.
