Local Bank Donates $5,000 to Support Education Charity

Bank of Marin’s Alameda branch recently made a $5,000 donation to the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF). The donation was made to AEF’s Teacher Mini Grants, one of AEF’s Equipped for Success programs.

“We couldn’t provide support for educational opportunities and equity in Alameda public schools without the backing and collaboration from Alameda community organizations and individuals,” wrote AEF in a statement.

With a focus specifically on need, Teacher Mini Grants provide an opportunity for teachers to apply for items that will benefit their students but that are not covered in the school budget. Many of these grants focus on teachers at Title I schools and special programs, such as Special Ed and English Language Learning.

In the past, AEF Teacher Mini Grants have funded field trips to the movies for deaf and hard of hearing students, field trips to the USS Hornet Museum, books for Alameda High School, and more. To donate, visit www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id=6S5Z5TMFPSRAS.
