Kiwanis Hosts Special Needs Day

The Kiwanis Club of Alameda organized a Special Needs Day at Jean Sweeney Open Space Park. Forty youth registered for the event. Members of the Bay Area Outreach Program for adaptive sports shared their love of inclusiveness and bicycles. They made various adaptive cycles available. These bicycles scored high with everyone including the local Key Club youth groups. Their members will share this resource with their schools. Other adapted sports and games included basketball, bowling, beanbag toss and Frisbee. A barbecue lunch concluded the sunny and very successful event.
