Kiwanis Awards Scholarships, Certificates


The Alameda Kiwanis Foundation recently awarded scholarships to six high school seniors and eight middle-school students.  The foundation bases its scholarship awards on academics, character, community involvement and leadership. 

Kiwanis President Denise Gasti presented the Hope of America plaque, Mayor Trish Herrera Spencer gave the students their certificates of achievement. Teachers nominated the Hope of America students and a committee of Kiwanis members chose the recipients.

District Superintendent Sean McPhetridge addressed the family members, friends, teachers and principals who attended the 21st annual event.
