Kiwanis to Award $100,000 in Scholarships
The Alameda Kiwanis Foundation has extended its scholarship application deadline to Monday, April 24. The previous deadline was April 9. The extension is to allow more graduating seniors from Alameda city high schools to apply for the Kiwanis Foundation scholarship.
Kiwanis Club of Alameda is giving away $100,000 in scholarships to five to seven students this year to celebrate their 100th year of serving the city of Alameda. Last year Kiwanis Alameda awarded $50,000 (“https://alamedasun.com/news/kiwanis-club-holds-dinner-ceremony-scholarsh...,” June 23, 2022). Awardees will be announced in May 2023. Last year, the Kiwanis Club held a ceremony for its scholarship awardees.
To earn a scholarship, the prospective student must demonstrate financial need — the candidate must have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid or a California Dream Act Application. Also, the student must have been accepted into a vocational, trade school, college, or university.
