Junior Golfers Compete

 

The Alameda Junior Golf Club staged another tournament on Aug. 17 at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex.

Thomas Flynn was victorious in the boys’ 16- to 18-year-old division after posting a 75. Harrod Tang came in second place with a 77, while Thomas Baumgartner shot a 79 for third place in the division. 

Adrian Davis won the boys’ 14- to 15-year-old division by a wide margin after shooting a 71. Nathan Moore was second, but shot just an 82, 11 strokes behind Davis. Michael Keys shot an 83 for third place.

The Alpiu Esguerra and Brice Chin tied atop the boys’ 12- to 13-year-old division at the tournament, but Esguerra took home the win after besting Chin in a tiebreaker. Joseph Aquino came in third place with an 85.

Liz Scholtes won the girls’ 15- to 18-year-old division with a 77. Scholtes won the highly contested division by the slimmest of margins. Corine Tan posted a 78 for second place, while Loren Tan rounded out the top three with a 79.

Justin Cala won the 11-and-over boys Mif Course division with a 40 — nine-hole course. Zachary William won the boys’ 10- to 11-year-old division with a 39. 

Penny Chai won the girls’ 10- to 11-year-old division with a 36. Pepper Chai won the girls’ seven- to nine-year-old division with a 38. Mia Won shot a 46 for second.
