Junior Golf Tourney Scores
The summer Alameda Junior Golf Club (AJGC) tournaments have begun with a tournament Wednesday, June 13 on the Earl Fry Course.
Elizabeth Scholtes won the girls’ 16- to 18-year-old division with a 71. Scholtes beat out Alexandra Hauck who posted a 93. Harrod Tang won the boys’ 16- to 18-year-old division. Tang posted an 81. Michael Keys was second with an 83, while Russell Mapaye shot a 97.
Lauren Lee won the girls’ 14- to 15-year-old competition with a 98. Wendy Mapaye shot a 115 for second place. Henry Lambert won the boys’ 14- to 15-year-old match with a 77. He just beat out Marcus Young who shot a 79 and Brice Chin who posted an 81.
Penny Chai shot a 77 to win the girls’ 12- to 13-year-old competition. She beat out Hannah Kwon who shot a 90 and Abigail Lam who posted a 96. Asher Kramer posted an 83 to win the boys’ 12- to 13-year-old bracket. Cooper Gunning shot an 85 for second place, while Nicolas Robertson shot a 94 for third place.
The AJGC has several golf programs for Alameda youth still available this summer.
Junior golf camps are week-long camps designed for the intermediate to advanced junior golfer. The junior group class level are designed for golfers with some experience. The junior club also has introduction to golf classes still available.
