The 80th Annual Junior Golf Championship took place on July 18 and 19 on the Earl Fry Course at the Chuck Corica Golf Complex.

Golfers from all over the Bay Area took part in the two-day event. Participants totaled 175 golfers in all between the ages of seven and 18. 

Brendan Choe won the boys’ 16- to 18-year-old division. Choe, of Orinda, shot a 68 in both rounds to shoot a 136 total. He was the overall winner of the tournament. Nick Orecchia of Pleasanton came in second with a 142 (68-74) and Chase Wickman of Danville came in third with a 143 (72-71). James Lemos shot the best score of any Alamedan as he finished in fourth place with a 144 (70-74).

Andrew Bagasbas of Danville won the boys’ 14- to 15-year-old division with an overall 143 (72-71). Ethan Chung of Cupertino posted a 144 (73-71) for second place, while Adrian Davis of San Leandro shot a 148 (75-73) for third place. Nathan Moore of Alameda posted a 152 (77-75) for sixth place.

Ben Soicher of Mill Valley won the boys’ 12- to 13-year-old bracket with a143 (72-71). Justin Hopkins of Danville and Michael Burry of Saratoga both shot a 149 to tie for second place.

Leandro Vieira of Castro Valley won the boys’ 10- to 11-year-old division — played on the Mif Course — with a 72 (36-36).
