Junior Golf Tees Up for Summer
The Alameda Junior Golf Club (AJGC) is underway in its summer season with a tournament last Wednesday, June 15.
The tournament was played on the Earl Fry and Mif Albright courses. It consisted of boys and girls between the ages of eight and 18. Kevin Thai shot an 80 to win the 16- to 18-year-old boys’ division. He finished six strokes ahead of Thomas Baumgartner who shot an 86. Baron Lock posted an 88 to round out the top three.
Justin Marcut shot a 112 to win the 14- to 15-year-old boys’ division. His score outpaced Griffin Geary who shot a 115 for second place. Henry Lambert won the 12- to 13-year-old boys’ division with a 90. Tyler Thai came in second place with a 108.
Bernadetter Perene shot an 87 to win the 15- to 18-year-old girls division. Eileen and Rhatigan posted a 92 in the bracket, while Grace Chung shot a 98 for third place.
The younger players played on the nine-hole par-3 Mif Albright Course. Amaan Patel shot a 43 to win the boys’ 11-year-old division. Erin Chung posted a 41 to win the girls’ 10- to 11-year-old division. Lastly, Shrey Patel shot a 43 to win the girls’ eight- to nine-year-old division.
