Once again a one-block stretch of Thompson Avenue has magically transformed into the mythical “Christmas Tree Lane” through the end of the season. Local homeowners go all-out with elaborate holiday decorations that are not to be missed. The block’s median — a vestige of a 19th-century water company — has trees decorated with support from Alameda Municipal Power, the City of Alameda, Public Works and donations from the residents of Thomp- *ahem* Christmas Tree Lane and other willing donors. A donation box is located on site.
