Island Studio Hosts Jiu-Jitsu Master

Dozens of jiu-jitsu enthusiasts congregated at Team Silva Martial Arts Academy to take part in a self-defense and jiu-jitsu seminar with the jiu-jitsu Red Belt Grand Master Carley Gracie.

The event took place Saturday, Dec. 7. Kids of all ages and seasoned Jiu-Jitsu martial artists learned from the well-renowned Grand Master.

Master Carley Gracie is the son of the creator of the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu method Grand Master Carlos Gracie. The Gracie philosophy prepares practitioners for life, enabling them to live a healthy life and use their body and mind to their full potential. Carley is a champion in both jiu-jitsu and vale tudo. He received his jiu-jitsu black belt at the age of 22, and is currently certified a ninth-degree Red Belt by the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Rio de Janeiro. Like Master Gracie, Professor Sergio Silva is also a Brazilian native who teaches self-defense and the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for toddlers, kids, juniors, teens, women, adults and seniors.
