Island Poets to Honor Native Americans

 

Alameda Island Poets will celebrate the release of a new anthology titled, Red Indian Road West, Native American Poetry from California, Wednesday, Oct. 5, 7 to 9 p.m., at Frank Bette Center for the Arts, 1601 Paru St. The anthology contains the work of 31 poets from 29 tribes and is edited by Lucille Lang Day and Kurt Schweigman. Dr. Janice Gould, Kim Shuck, Nanette Deetz and Alison Hart will read. Open mic and refreshments follow.
