Island’s Star Runner Fourth in Dublin Race


St. Joseph Notre Dame (SJND) long-distance runner Kiera Marshall finished fourth in the Dublin Distance Fiesta 3,200-meter competition Saturday, March 18.

Marshall completed the trek at Dublin High in 10:52.63. Her fourth place finish was faster than 198 other competitors in the massive race. Alexandra Beitia from Granite Bay won the race. The senior finished with a time of 10:44.36. Sydney Vandegrift from St. Francis of Sacramento came in second place with a time of 10:49.68. Isabella Chao from Campolindo of Moraga rounded out the top three with a time of 10:51.01.

Marshall, a senior, is committed to join the University of Washington running team next fall. SJND Sophomore Emily Perez finished 23rd in the competition. She completed the course in a time of 11:35.84. SJND Junior Beatrice Levy finished in 30th place. She finished with a time of 11:49.51.
