Hundreds Hoof It for Developer Walking Tour
Representatives from Alameda Point Partners, a group of companies aiming to develop the first neighborhood at Alameda Point referred to as "Site A," hosted a walking tour last weekend that drew more than 300 people. City staff led the tour groups that stopped at various locations where the developers spoke about their vision. Tour-goers included Mayor Trish Spencer and other residents who asked tough questions. While most seemed pleased with the partners’ intent to preserve certain buildings and incorporate them into the new development, other concerns related to scarcity of parking, a lack of affordable housing for purchase and incomplete knowledge of some of the former base’s unique historic character.
