Hospital Hosting Health Fair

Hospital Hosting Health Fair

Alameda Hospital’s Community Health Fair, billed as “Alameda’s premiere health and wellness event of the year” has been scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Representatives from the hospital will offer free flu shots to the public (14 and older only) while supplies last.

In addition, locals can take advantage of a variety of health screenings, activities and exhibits for everyone in the family. Local service organizations and businesses dedicated to the health and well being of the community will have booths with plenty of information available on improving one’s health.

Offerings include free blood glucose tests for diabetes and blood pressure screenings and cholesterol and osteoporosis screenings for a fee. The public can also get a quick-look EKG and learn about stroke, cancer and injury prevention, healthy nutrition and disaster preparedness.

Kids can get a free bicycle helmet, KidSafe photo ID and a chance to explore some of the hospital’s emergency vehicles.

The fair will take place at Alameda Hospital, 2070 Clinton Ave. Find out more at www.
