Hospital Has Free Screenings Coming up

Alameda Hospital, which announced last Thursday it is now officially part of the Alameda Health System, will be offering free health screenings as upcoming events.

This Saturday, May 10, the hospital will host free screenings in three essential areas of health at their booth at the Park Street Spring Festival, Alameda’s annual Mother’s Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. when staff will offer what’s called the 3B’s assessment, which includes blood pressure, blood glucose and body mass index.

A similar opportunity to be tested will be available during the Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Festival Sunday, May 18. The hospital will offer the 3B’s at their booth from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the city’s annual celebration of the diverse cultures of the Asian Pacific Islander community.

The API festival will be held at South Shore Center.
