Honoring Those Killed in Collisions

Bike Walk Alameda will host a memorial event at 1 p.m., this Sunday, Nov. 21, at City Hall, 2623 Santa Clara Ave. as part of the Global World Day of Remembrance. So far this year, Alameda lost four residents in traffic collisions, including the most recent victim, Alameda County Supervisor Wilma Chan. People have already placed flowers at the site of her death at Grand Avenue and Shore Line Drive, pictured at the right. Speakers at this event will include safe-streets advocates, first responders, City Council members, and victim advocates who have been most impacted by these tragedies.

After the rally, Bike Walk Alameda will lead a bike ride to the four crash locations and lay flowers to pay respects to the victims, concluding with a return trip to City Hall.
