Home Depot Gives Back

Gardeners at the Bay Eagle Community Garden (BECG) had their wish for a new shed granted through the generosity of Oakland’s Home Depot. BECG’s appeal for a new shed was substantiated by the Alameda Food Bank (AFB) with whom BECG shares surplus vegetables. The garden’s original shed had prevailed through winter winds and rain, but the sliding doors had long left the tracks leaving the entrance accessible to nocturnal critters.

Unanimous in their gratitude for AFB and for the Home Depot’s donation of a shed that resembles a cottage in a country garden are Frank, Chuck and Kathleen, garden members who interrupted their morning commute to stop and douse their plots in anticipation of an appearance from the midday sun.
