The Jets women’s varsity soccer team played two games the week of Dec 12th. On Wednesday, they defeated Oakland Tech by the score 1-0. Relentless pressure by the Jets made moving the ball out of the backfield a challenge for the Bulldogs. Jet midfielders, Catherine Price, Josie Farris, Gabby Benaquista, and Angie St. Denis controlled the flow of the game and St. Denis found the back of the net for the game’s only score. Goalkeeper Ila Cantrell held back a determined Bulldog offense, making a multitude of impressive saves.

EHS’ good fortune came to an end as the Jets fell to Berkeley High, 2-0, last Friday. The Jets started strong creating several offensive opportunities and keeping Berkeley scoreless in the first half. The Yellow Jackets came to life in the second, scoring twice and using speed to the ball to prevent the Jets from mounting a comeback. The Jets hold a 3-1-1 record.
