Grand Opening Ceremony for Rosefield Village

The Housing Authority of the City of Alameda (AHA) and Island City Development celebrated the grand opening of the new affordable housing complex Rosefield Village on Wednesday, Sept. 15. Residents, project development team members, AHA staff, AHA Board members, and funders came together to commemorate the event.

Alameda Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft and many other Alameda city and county officials also attended the event.

The complex, located at 727 Buena Vista Ave., consists of 92 units of affordable apartment homes with twice the required amount of ADA accessible apartments.

Rosefield Village is named after Joseph Rosefield, who received a patent for non-separating peanut butter 99 years ago at the housing development’s location.
