Golf Club Submits Results from Weekly Tourney

Pam Curtis won the Alameda Women’s Golf Club net tournament event Thursday, July 18, after shooting a net 67 on the Jack Clark Course.

Curtis competed in the fifth flight among golfers with a handicap of 38 to 40. Janet Kirk posted a net 69 for second place in the flight. She was also tied for second place in the overall tournament with Judy Eng. Kay Park finished third in the flight with a net 70. Lynette Mladinich shot a net 76 for fourth flight. Siv Richards and Jean Eddy tied for fifth place in the flight with net 82s.

Val Bushor won the first flight — handicap of 11 to 21 — with a net 71. Buschor also posted the lowest gross score of the event with an overall 82. Stephanie Bellato shot a net 73 for second place in the flight. Tai Chewpanich posted a net 75 for third place. Dot Moody and Kathy Nagakura both shot net 76s to tie for fourth place in the flight.

Eng’s net 69 gave her the victory in the second flight — handicap of 22 to 28. Jeannie Yip posted a net 72 for second place. Claire Loud shot a net 75 for fourth place in the flight. Barbara Mickle rounded out the top five in the flight with a net 77.

Jan Peyrot was victorious in the third flight — handicap of 29 to 33 — with a net 76. Louise Eilhardt shot a net 79 for second place. Barbara Barton posted a net 80 for third place. Alice Wong shot a net 82 for fourth place, while Angie Vaccarezza shot a net 87 to round out the top five.

Shirley Lee and LeAnn Curran finished atop the fourth flight — handicap of 34 to 37 — with matching net 73s. Sandi Kaney shot a net 74 for third place. Susan Yoon posted a net 76 for fourth place. Denise Gasti shot a net 80 for fifth place.

Chewpanich won the closest-to-the-hole competition on the fifth hole. Her ball landed 6’ 7” from the pin. Dot Moody finished second with her ball landing 10’ 7” from the pin.

Yip won the competition on the 11th hole. Her ball landed 4’ 1” from the hole. Moody finished second again with her ball landing 5’ 7” from the hole. Forty golfers participated in the event.
