Golf Club’s March Charm Tourney Held at Chuck Corica
Stephanie Bellato won the Alameda Women’s Golf Club’s March Charm by shooting a net 70 Thursday, March 6, on the Jack Clark Course.
Bellato played in the first flight among golfers with a handicap of 11 to 24. Barbara Mickle shot a net 72 for second place while Debbie Adams shot a net 75 for third place. Cheryl Saxton came in fourth place in the flight with a net 76. Nine golfers in all competed in the flight.
Louise Eilhardt won the second flight group — handicap of 26 to 34 — with a net 73. There was a significant gap between first and second place in the second flight. Diane Hughes shot a net 78 for the second place distinction in the flight. Jane Sullwold came in third place with a net 80, while Kay Park and Barabara Wood tied for fourth place with each of them scoring a net 81. Nine golfers also competed in the second flight.
Bellato also won the closest-to-the-hole competition on the seventh hole. Her ball landed 8’ 10" giving her the win. Logan finished in second place in the competition with the ball losing all momentum 15’ 11" from the pin. She just beat out Judy Eng, who hit her ball 16’ 4" from the pin.
Bellato’s winning streak ended with the competition on the 16th hole as she managed to finish in third place. Bellato could only muster enough strength for her ball to land 29’ 9" from the hole. Jackie Suh won the competition on the 16th hole. Her ball landed 10’ 1" from the pin, while Tai Chewpanich’s attempt landed 15’ 11 from the pin giving her second place honors.
Bellato also had the lowest gross total of the event with an overall 81. Eighteen golfers competed in the event.
