Girls Inc. Welcomes New Board Members
Girls Inc. of the Island City recently announced the appointment of four new members to its board of directors: Christy Consler, Chanee D. Hawkins Ash, Heather Little and Carolyn Thomas.
Consler is an entrepreneur, executive coach and leadership advisor. She founded Sustainable Leadership Advisors, Inc. and has served on multiple boards, including the Network of Executive Women.
Hawkins Ash works as a community engagement specialist in the office of the superintendent for the Oakland Unified School District. She coaches leaders on how to foster parent and community engagement.
Little is the operations and member services leader for First 5 Association. She was a principal founder of the PLAN! Alameda organization, which advocates for better communication between neighborhoods and the city planner.
Thomas is a human resources business strategist who worked for many years with the American Cancer Society. She recently completed training with the East Bay Regional Park District to become a docent at Crab Cove.
