Gators Compete in Regional Meet

Members of the Alameda Gators swim team competed in the Cal Invitational Swim Meet on the University of California Berkeley campus Jan. 15 and 16.

Women’s Competitions
Gator member Ace Boyle, 17, finished 35th out of 93 swimmers in the women’s 200-yard individual medley (IM) with a time of 2:18.57. Zoe Kuhn, 17, finished 54th with a time of 2:23.

Sydney Thompson, 15, finished 23rd out of 100 swimmers in the women’s 50-yard freestyle competition with a time of 25.82. Boyle finished 39th with a time of 26.40. Kuhn finished 43rd with a time of 26.45.

Boyle came in 18th place out of 51 participants in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:27.50. Thompson came in 10 spots behind her at 28th place with a time of 5:32.25.

Kuhn finished 42nd out of 139 competitors in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.68. Boyle finished five spots behind her for 47th place and a time of 56.09.

Men’s Competitions
None Nguyen-Trong, 16, finished 41st out of 89 participants in the men’s 200-yard IM with a time of 2:07.02.

Gator member Nathan Luu, 16, finished 42nd out of 85 participants in the men’s 50-yard freestyle race with a time of 23.34. Luu also came in 47th place out of 81 participants in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.35.

Devin Hou, 17, finished 27th in the men’s 200-yard butterfly competition with a time of 2:08.04.
Nguyen-Trong also competed in the 500-yard freestyle competition. He finished in 23rd place out of 61 competitors with a time of 5:02.86. Hou came in 53rd place in the same competition with a time of 5:25.54

There were 30 races at the meet.
