Free Summer Meals for Kids and Teens

The Alameda Unified School District will serve free lunch and breakfast at select sites for all children 18 years and younger. The Summer Food Service Program will run from June 20 to August 4 Monday through Friday, except July 4.

Free breakfast will be served at the following sites:
-- Alameda Boys & Girls Club (1900 3rd St.)
-- Alameda Point Collaborative (677 W Ranger Ave.)
-- Academy of Alameda (401 Pacific Ave.)
-- Ruby Bridges Elementary (351 Jack London Ave.)

Free lunch will be served at the same sites as the free breakfast sites, in addition to Shinsei Garden Apartments, 401 Willie Stargell Ave. — Shinsei Garden Apartments will be closed on Friday, June 23.

Academy of Alameda and Ruby Bridges will serve breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. Alameda Boys & Girls Club will serve breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Alameda Point Collaborative will serve breakfast from 9 to 10 a.m. All five sites will serve lunch from 12 to 1 p.m.

Younger children may be accompanied by a parent or guardian, but only the child will be served. No application or ID is needed. All meals must be eaten on site. For more information, call 510-337-7079.
